| Welcome!

Founded in 1955, by Rev. Lloyd and Dorothy Lambert, Christian Center Rescue Ministries was an outgrowth from a jail ministry.
Rev. Lambert saw a need for the men whose lives had been changed to have a transitional place to stay upon their release.
More than 50 years later the same ministry has expanded to meet the needs of men, women and children in various situations and stages of life.
The ministry provides food, clothing, and household items to anyone in the community who is in need of help.
The Christian Center Rescue Ministries is a ministry which houses, clothes, and feeds all those who come to us.
We have an average of 50 men that stay with us every night.
Just as our name suggests, we believe wholeness and healing begins with knowing God and Jesus Christ as our Savior.
We offer several bible studies, devotional times, and chapel services for residents and walk-ins.
Offering help and hope is our goal. We extend a helping hand and God does the rest.
We serve God by:
- Feeding the Hungry - Our kitchen at 625 Main Street provides three meals a day to our residents and to a community in need.
- Sheltering the Homeless - We have a men's shelter at 625 Main Street to house men who are homeless.
- Clothing the Needy - Through the generous donations from our community, we are able to offer affordable clothing through the Attic Window Thrift Store and free clothing through our Community Assistance Program.
- Leading the Lost to a New Life in Christ - Our spiritual programming based on the gospel of Jesus Christ makes the lasting difference in the lives of the men of our homeless shelters.
The biblical foundation that we stand on is found in the book of Matthew; the words of Jesus Christ:
Matthew 25:35-40 (NIV)
-
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
-
I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
-
Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
-
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
-
When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
-
The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"
